MY CROSSFIT NRG JOURNEY: DAY 1
DAY 1 WOD:
Complete 4 rounds for time of:
25 KB snatches left arm
25 KB snatches right arm
400 meter run
Today was my first day at NRG. I followed a trainer from my other program (at the U of U). Since our program was finished I decided that I wanted to keep training, so here I am. What can I say, NRG is just beautiful. In the warehouse district of SLC, NRG is a big ol gym. Adjacent to an indoor soccer facility, this place feels like home. A make shift waiting area, a big desk, and two bathrooms. Other than that, it’s all playspace.
So getting to my workout. The warm up was good. I definitely get to re-visit the basic fundamentals of kettlebell swings tomorrow. Other than that, a great warm up. Rowing, samson walk, KB swings, waiter walks, pull-ups, push-ups, and sit-ups.
The WOD. Now up until this point in my Crossfit career, I had never really done KB snatches. With that being said I went real slow throughout this WOD. I saw times from 14 minutes - 38 minutes. And I came in dead last in my four person class at 23:41. Now I feel fucking horrible after that. There is no one to blame but myself, but I know that I must work and progress for a better time. And that is why I joined NRG. To make myself a better athlete.
